Ingredients
- 2 cups of our fresh basil leaves
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ⅓ cup pine nuts (can sub with walnuts or almonds)
- 2–3 garlic cloves (peeled)
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper (optional)
Instructions
Step 1
Prep: Toast the pine nuts lightly in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes until
golden and fragrant (optional but recommended).
Step 2
Blend base: In a food processor, combine basil leaves, toasted pine nuts, and garlic.
Pulse until finely chopped.
Step 3
Add cheese: Add Parmesan and pulse again.
Step 4
Stream oil: With the machine running, slowly drizzle in olive oil until smooth but still
textured.
Step 5
Season: Taste and add salt and pepper as needed.
